I cried today….Yes, I admit it. I cried. It was the really good down and dirty cry. The kind that gives you really good sobs at the end of it. Why? No apparent reason except that ‘things’ seemed TOO BIG. ‘Nothing’ was going ‘right’
Okay, the proverbial sticks in the camel’s back included: My internet and phone was down and had been for two days at my office. My tablet ran out of power. I did not have the charger. My cell ran out of power and the only charger I had was my car charger and so I had no connectivity. On a day when I was going to get SO MUCH DONE! I had self-imposed deadlines. Not meeting these deadlines meant I wasn’t going to get ‘it’ done!
I wanted to get ‘things’ done. And ‘nothing’ was going to get done.
Well, when you’ve started down this road ~ you think it will be so, right? So, it was and I went down that spiral of can’ts and negativity. It’s okay to go down that spiral every once in awhile. Really. It is. Those cries allow you to let go of stuff you didn’t even know you were holding onto. It’s GOOD to let go of the anxiety and stress that has obviously been finding a nice home inside of me without even being asked to come in!
It’s GOOD to KNOW how to surrender into emotion ~when you know how to come out of it. There is a simple process that I use when I find myself crying like this. As the crying dissipates and the sobs take over, the RECOVERY FROM THE ART OF CRYING BEGINS:
FIRST: Grab your journal and start writing everything you are thinking.
Sound familiar? Well, Write it down….all of it. The primary reason is to get it OUT OF YOUR HEAD.
SECOND: Pull ONE oracle card to focus in on the moment.
Oracle cards bring wisdom to you and pull you into the present time. Today, I pulled Simplicity! Of course, do what matters and release the rest ~ find a sense of ease and move forward simply.
THIRD: Sit with your journal and attack those inner gremlins of your mind.
And, in the end, today for me, it WAS Simple! Things were done step by step and calmly. Thanks to my friend’s computer, this post is up. MY VA got some of the project and will get the rest when that step is accomplished. I cleaned out clutter on my desk and arranged the projects in another journal and now, their steps to completion are ready to be placed on my calendar.
And, most importantly, the stress that was housed in my body and the gremlins that were taking over my mind are gone. And, Life IS Simple!
