Waitin’ On A Sunny Day ~ 5 ways to lift away the dulldrums

It’s easy to let the weather dampen your mood. During the winter, many call it the “Blues” but people forget that you can also get down on a dreary sunny day just as easily. You’ve planned a day off and a trip to the beach and what happens? It rains. You have a graduation cookout celebration and what happens? It’s damp and sunless.

Do a quick check to see if your mood is affected by the weather, if it is here are 5 tips to help change it QUICKLY. You can re-educate your thinking processes. It may not be simple and it may not be quick but when you put the effort in to change the negative inner dialogue to positive self-talk, look at what the results can be!

1.  Give yourself A Visual of the Sun~     Look at a picture of a sunny day and imagine the warm of the sun kissing your face.

2. Act as If~  If you want to feel more upbeat, ask yourself “What would it take to feel upbeat right at this moment” and Act As If!

3.   Change your Perspective ~  Shift, move, look at what you are doing from another vantage point. A little shift in positioning may be all that it takes

4. Appreciate your mood away ~ Make a quick list of 5 things that have brought you a smile in the last 5  days and appreciate them ~ even planning WHEN you will have that again.

5. Listen to a Song You Love ~ Music can shift your spirit. Have your fav song ready to GO!
