Quiet Your Mind to find the Answers.

Many of my friends, clients and acquaintances ask me…. What’s your secret to staying so positive and happy? The answer is really quite simple and yet quite elusive for so many people. Quiet your mind to find the answers you need.

Staying positive is about finding your purpose, creating clarity of vision and stepping forward into that. It involves knowing where you are going to and liking the path ~ the things that life shows you.  Here’s the formula to finding just that:

Quiet your mind,

listen to the answers

watch for signs that you are actually listening

then, follow what they tell you

Got it? Okay! Now you know and I’ll see you on the other side of positive and happy. It’s easy right? No?

Why is happiness and being positive so elusive to so many? That answer is simple. They do not know how to do the first step and that’s quiet your mind. The inner chatter can be so loud and the outer influences of life so strong that quieting the mind is quite hard for so many.

Me? What do I do when I need to quiet my mind…so many different things. Today, I closed my eyes and listening to an inspiring song that speaks to my spirit:

Diana Ross’s “Do You Know where you’re going to” is just one like that…….it lets me reflect on what I’m Hoping For and the music infuses me with energy because I don’t want my ‘dreams just slip through our hands” and it brings me energy to take that one step closer to them!

Do you know where you are going to? How do you quiet your mind to find the Answers? What inspires YOU to take that ONE step closer to your dreams?

  1. Laura, I read every morning without fail. Could be Scripture or an inspirational book, but it feeds my soul. Thanks for feeding my soul this morning 🙂

  3. Fabulous! I seek joy ever day in every way. It’s hard sometimes, but it fills my mind with purpose. I also play WordsWithFriends. 😀

I’ve stayed away from WordswithFriends ~ I let games like that gobble up my time so easily (step away from the Suduko,no!) ~~~~ unless of course, it’s with my nieces/nephews 🙂

Me too, Julie! I tend to listen to lectures and such in the car. I listen to relaxing music in my other practice all the time so I seldom think to turn it on for MYSELF at home. However, when I need some inspiration, I go to my inspiration board and there is a piece of paper with my list of songs that inspire, quiet, and enthuse. Then, I have at it!
I’m getting feedback about exercise and yes, that works for some. Me? I’m usually looking at my watch to see when I can end 😉

  5. I take a bath or shower. Something about the water, being alone and having time to think and dream.

Shawn ~ bath’s are wonderful. The water element is associated with the emotions. Washing the emotions in a relaxing bath allows you to quiet the mind and focus without emotions taking over you. 🙂 Glad you are able to find your quiet place!

  6. Nature and gardening do it for me. There’s something about being out where the wildlife hangs, or digging in the dirt and being responsible for the health and growth of the plants you start that quiets the chatter.
