Find a solution ~ quiet the mind and word~doodle

Go ahead Doodle. Word Doodle that is: Take pen to paper to Relax, solve a problem and increase your sense of self worth.

That’s what I said. Word-Doodle. It’s like journaling but not in the same way. It actually allows you some quiet time to focus in on one particular area. You can address a problem at work. You can look at a fear that is holding you back. Angry about something? Doodle on it.

Word Doodling offers solutions and ‘ahha’ moments as journaling on two different levels.

First, It gives you time to zone-out and go within to find answers. It offers that time to quiet the mind. By going from word to word and doodling around it, you’ll be amazed at how dots become connected. In this space, you can connect with the inner wisdom of the soul and be given that “AHHA” moment or “EUREKA” idea that allows you to get over a challenge in your life.

Secondly, at first glance, you may think a word-doodle offers you nothing. But, within it’s web lies a solution.

Here is my own Word Doodle earlier this month contemplating a challenge I’ve had …it gave me an answer (in truth, I did crop out a private portion of it)..You’ll find out about that decision in the future!!!

 

For now, know that you can use a word-doodle to quiet the mind, go within and find answers! Have you ever doodled to find an answer? What did you discover?

  1. I’d like a little more how-to on making word doodles. I can write, and I can draw, and I’ve even done some mind-mapping, but this is different from anything I’ve ever tried to do.

    Charlotte ~ Beginning how to’s are to simply take a pen/pencil and a sheet of paper, focus on a challenge, and write the first word that comes to your mind and free-float from there with words that come up after that and see where it takes you. It can be more involved than that. The learning and a second pair of eyes from someone who knows how to help you connect to your inner wisdom will spearhead the process. But, you can begin right now with those simple steps! Let me know when you need more help!

  2. I do all kinds of doodling when (stuck) in meetings. From 3D cubes to trapezoids to random geometric figures… to picking a phrase the speaker repeats and determining how many words I can make from that statement…

  5. A very interesting technique. I might have to try that. I suck at journalling, at least doing it consistently. I do it for a week or so, and then drop it.

    Oh….try the word-doodle….you can do it anywhere…on a napkin in a coffee shop, at the hairdresser. Yes, of course, it works best in a quiet environment where you set your intentions but, sometimes, I’m amazed at what I get from it during a pedicure!!! 🙂

    When you can, Linda. We all do what’s right when the time is there! There was a period of time when I was running two businesses and taking care of my mom for six months. I did little to fuel my fire then but did take the time to R&R&R (rest relax and rejuvenate) in snippets…my bathroom became my sanctuary ;-)!!
