How to Discover Patience ~Easily & Effortlessly

An easy way to discover an unlimited amount of patience is by using a Love Button!

Let’s face it. We all need patience once in a while. Our lives ares so full and packed. Most people live ‘on the go’ and in a constant state of stress and overwhelm. Some people have lived in this place for so long they have long since forgotten what ‘normal’ or ‘less stressed’ feels like. They have even forgotten that place does exist. They don’t understand the toll it takes on them and on those people around them. There patience is at an all time low or non-existent!

Why be patient at all? For you, patience allow peace and calm. It will decrease your stress, slow your pace to one that works well. Often times, you can even be MORE productive if you allow patience in your life. For other’s, your patience with them shows respect and love. It offers an energy that gives them a sense of peace and coexisting works wonderfully, projects get done, accomplishments are achieved and success happens! Your patience honors other is a way that indeed shows your truest, most beautiful self.

When do you need patience? Name an event and no doubt there will be a need for patience within it. You need patience ALWAYS. But certainly the tell tale signs that you need it NOW are when you feel stressed out, are in a hurry or begin to be judgmental about others and about situations. THIS is when patience is a must for you.

The magic ingredient to grabbing more patience is LOVE!  IT’s a simple as that. Enter the LOVE BUTTON!

Discover Patience with a Love Button

Discover Patience with a Love Button

This imaginary love button represents the Universal energy of Love that is all around us. It is ALWAYS there. Love is patient. All you need is a little love. I learned this ‘trick’ a long time ago from a holistic practitioner who had thumb prints all over the walls of his office and when I asked him why, he said, “IT’s how I give myself a free shot of patience!”

I’ve used this technique for getting patience in an instant so often now ~ I almost do it subconsciously! When we were caring for my Mom during the final stages of her physical life, we actually put a Love Button on the wall. Dad needed a visual reminder and he actually started using it.  It’s still there ~ Our Caring Love Button ~ a little old and a little tattered but we don’t have the heart to take it down yet and that was  years ago! When I go back to my Dad’s house, It is a reminder of both my love for my mom and for the need for patience in all that I do.

It’s easy to use the Love Button for patience.

Patience will come to you and replenish your heart and spirit. It will allow you to go through your day with peace and calm. This may sound silly and simplistic. But, it works. During a meeting, while you are stuck in traffic, in any and all situations, it can be used. Try it RIGHT NOW. Focus in and touch your Love Button Of Patience.

How did it feel? What situations can you think of that this will help you discover more patience in your life?

Update 2014 ~ the Love Button is still at my Dad’s house in his office~ I’m staying with him supporting his Open Heart Surgery. The hospital sent him on with a pillow he uses to support his chest when he walks. Guess What I’m using now?! 😉 and it fills me with love & gratitude!!!!

Update 2017 ~ The love Button and Dad’s pillow are still at his home. When I visit, my heart is filled seeing these!

  1. Thank you, thank you. I needed to read this today. I’m gonna make my own “love button,” so I can have a visual reminder of something I need to work on.

  2. Ya know, we actually have a real love button located on our sternums. It tends to be right in the middle of one’s chest, but sometimes you have to feel around for it. It’s often a bit tender to the touch. As I was reading your post, I thought, wow, I can just press my love button – the one right in the middle of my sternum – any time I need a dose of patience. Very cool! Thank you.

  3. I love this Laura.

I’m getting in a space now where I’m practicing being more in love than in fear, and patience is a big part of that. There’s truth in the saying ‘patience is a virtue’!

I will remind myself to ask for love and patience, when I am feeling in a state of impatience or stress.

    Thank you!

  4. I love this idea – and want to add that practicing patience is a great time management technique too – When you are able to practice patience, you are able to truly keep things in perspective. Thanks so much Laura!

  5. Laura, I could have used this tip when I had two rambunctious and hyperactive little boys around the house….Come to think of it, I need it now with a “know-it-all” old fool….

Seriously, this is a great tip.

  6. Damn you woman! Do you know I like to read blogs while on the treadmill? I can’t cry on the treadmill, it’s a tripping hazard! Your story was so amazing and immediately made me think of my little guy who is 7. I am pretty sure he is empathic. He ALWAYS. Knows exactly when I need a hug. And like bad aid he make my booboo all better. Thank you Laura for sharing your story of patience and the immediate relief to get it!

  7. Wow . . . I can’t wait to try this Laura. If there is anything I struggle with most as a mom is my ridiculously non-existent patience. I went into motherhood knowing that patience was NOT one of my fortes and I’d hoped I’d be able to cultivate once I had kids. Hmmm . . . not going as planned. I will try ANYTHING because after all, they are just little kids and my impatience is my issue, not theirs. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this tool.

🙂 You can do one of two things Gayle. Keep it as your little secret or share it with them and have them make their own Love Buttons! Let me know how using this works 🙂

I think I’ll share it, because they’re already picking up my bad habits :/. I’ll let you know how it goes. Here’s to a more patient family, home and life!

  9. Laura – what a delightful idea to make Love and Patience buttons (easy too as someone mentioned). I’m thinking of adding others and putting them on a sheet of paper in my office when I need to re-focus or reinforce. Thanks !

  10. Just thought of something to add to my idea of a sheet with special word buttons on it – when touching it, place the other hand over your heart. Naturally, you can imagine the word while doing this. I think it would provide a deeper connection.
