Your Vision: The 4 f’s to Empowering It

Your BIG Vision. That sounds so BIG doesn’t it? What if you don’t KNOW your vision? What if you THINK you know your vision but you are unsure of it? What if you KNOW your dream but you don’t know the next best steps to take? Your Vision and your dream IS going to shift and morph as time goes forward. The key to understanding this is to EMPOWER it and ALLOW it to shift and grow as you do.

Dream Board, Vision Board, Life Collage

Often times, your dreams will be met and you will create new ones.  Other times, you will stray from it ~ at least as you understand it. But, is this straying from it or is it that your vision needs to be tweaked? As you grow, your vision will shift and it may simply shift or even do a 180 degree turn! It’s at these times that the 4 f’s of empowering your vision come into play. The key is to do these and then revisit it.

Keeping in mind these 4 ‘F’s of Empowering Your vision and recognizing that they can be used in a cycle will help:
  1. Find It ~ do some soul searching to discover what your vision is for right now.
  2. Fine-tune it ~ look carefully at your BIG vision, discover where aspects of you overlap and narrow it’s focus.
  3. Focus it ~ Once you narrow your Bigger Vision, take time to focus on your vision ~ each and every day. Check in to see if it still resonates.
  4. Flow with it ~ Take Steps toward manifesting your vision each and every day and allow for shifts to happen.

Repeat this cycle so your vision does not get stagnant. It is best to Use Spiritual Awakening Tools for discovery. Why? Because when you find your vision from your own inner wisdom, it will be truth. There are many tools you can use ~ meditation, mind maps and Vision Seed Maps or Dream Boards are all ways to focus on finding your vision. They are not stagnant. Dream Boards are meant to be created for many reasons~ a period of time or an event. Mind maps are free flowing. Meditation allows you to flow.

What tool do you use when discovering this? Will you be checking in on it this summer?

  1. This post is totally relevant to my own process right now! I am big into vision boards and mind-mapping. I’m making them all the time, as they help me process and stay connected to dreams/goals. Just yesterday, I removed every vision board from my wall (my entire wall was covered in them). They all need tweaking, as my vision has shifted somewhat. Plus, they were feeling stagnant for me. I had stopped looking at them. Some of the goals I’d place on there were so huge that they didn’t feel attainable. So, I’m going to try the process you’re suggesting as I recreate them.

Yes!!!! When a board starts feeling stagnant, it is time to re-energize it or start a new one. I talk about that in my workshop. What kind to create, How to create it so it is aligned with your deepest desires and truths ~ regardless of how ‘huge’ they feel and how to keep them energized so they do not become stagnant!!! So glad you are sensing this for yourself!!!!!

  3. ALLOW something to happen, Laura? ACK!!!!!!!!!!! Such a tough thing to do for those of us who have yet to subdue our inner control freaks. 🙂

I think my favorite part of this whole article is your suggestion to identify what my vision is FOR RIGHT NOW. It gives me such a feeling of relief, release, and calm to remind myself that “right now” is the perfect time to be working on. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Kathleen ~ yes, ALLOW once you KNOW your vision….shifts and morphs are important and if you try to control everything well yeah we know what happens then, right?!!! And, yes, right now IS perfect!!!

  4. I love vision boards, but I have been creating a mind movie that I am finding incredibly powerful! One thing I have learned through using different types of vision or dream boards is to not get hung up on it if things change. As I grew, achieved some things, others became less important and that’s okay. So, I’ve taken to doing one quarterly as a way of checking in and refocusing. Love how you said to be in the flow…that’s so bang on!

Mind Movies are Wonderful ~ i love how dynamic they are. The challenge is the length and the amount of viewing. Someone once told me her mind movie was 18 min long. I asked how often she watched it and she said hardly ever. mine? 2 min and 47 sec and I watch it each morning before working!!!
Glad you are trying new vision manifestation tools and yes, things do change!!!

  6. I have had a vision board on my wall for few years now. You have got a good point, I should go back and updated it.

Oh I hope you do Michelle! Reviewing, Renewing or completely redoing will bring you New Energy!!! I look at my vision boards after about 6 months….sometimes, they are done 🙂 sometimes, they need support and sometimes, they no longer serve as life is a constant movement of energy!!! 🙂

  7. I love the reminder to focus on my vision each and every day. I like to keep my vision board in my environment, reminding me of what I’m creating. Your thoughtful post has reminded me of the importance of this focus. THANKS for sharing, Laura!

  8. My favorite tip? “Flow with it.” I love the idea of not getting too attached to the vision and allowing new (better!) ideas to come into play. The pressure to create a “perfect vision” has stopped me from creating a dream board until this year when my coach gave me a deadline! (Hello, accountability.)

Lori, that is NOT how I teach creating dream boards (or mind maps). In fact, during my workshop, I speak to how to keep them energized and shift them AFTER they are done so that you always have an AMAZING vision ~ not perfect!!!!! Let me know if I can support your accountability 😉

  9. I love the idea of visioning but then getting out of the way and allowing the universe to flow! I have had a few experiences lately where my intentions have manifested in a much larger way than I could have imagined and I am so deeply grateful that I did not limit my vision of what was possible!

Flow is so important for visions to happen, Kelley. It reminds me of the song “Hold on loosely but don’t let go ~ if you cling too tightly you’re gonna loose control.’!!! 🙂

  10. I love to use vision boards, a gratitude journal, meditation, and then wait for inspired thought of actions to take. Works fabulously! Love your article, great stuff!

  12. Thanks for the four points… I am great at 1 and 3, but the 2 and 4 … (sounds like a jazz song)… is where I would like to concentrate. I easily go big picture, but I am seeing that it is in the refinement and clarity that I get my best results… also being very clear, but going with the flow…being open to the possibilities of something better or different provides a fun contrast as well. I also love how you bring all the elements together from meditation to vision boards… they play off each other. Fun! Thank you, Laura 🙂
