How to Create A Spiritual Awakening Practice this Summer

The Summer solstice has come and, here in the Northern Hemisphere, people are making plans and preparing and visioning their best summer ever! And with that, it is the most natural time to nourish our inner wisdom. With the extra daylight this time of year gives us, it is natural to feel more energized and relaxed all at the same time. Summer gives us time to Nourish Yourself so you can hear, honor and heed your soul’s inner wisdom for awakening the spirit within.

spiritual, awakening, practice

The seasons of the year give us wisdom about why it is so. The natural cycles that occur from winter to spring to summer to fall show us that. We plan in the winter. Plant in the spring. Nurture and nourish during the summer and reap the harvest in the fall. Summer, therefore, can be a great time to nourish our soul’s truth. But, how can you nourish your spirit this without feeling overwhelmed? You do it by creating a Spiritual Awakening Practice!

When you create a practice and you honor it, it becomes second nature. Creating a system that works for you is crucial to this endeavor. It does not have to be a massive undertaking. Simple Shifts and Small Steps can lead to massive awakening!!!

Here’s a Summer’s plan for a Spiritual Awakening Practice:

When you begin a Spiritual Awakening Practice, you automatically begin to see yourself differently. You accept your flaws and you celebrate your successes. In doing so, you have more success and you discover more inspiration and joy because you’ve gone within.

What Spiritual Awakening Practice(s) will you create? Or, what spiritual practices that you already use can you enhance to create an Awemazing Summer of Inspiration & Joy for yourself?

  2. These are wonderful ideas to nourish our souls! I have long said that if you need to know how to BE in JOY go follow a small child around for a day. Being really present when out in nature just fills my bucket. Taking a few minutes to use all the senses to be right there and hold that memory is wonderful and can be brought up later to help reduce a stressful time. Listening to the water lap against the rocks…best meditation I’ve ever experienced 🙂

Comment by You are so right Laura! Having a simple practrice and making it habit is crucial to getting the benefit. Unfortunlately, I slipped away from these good habits recently and can really feel a difference. This is just the impetus I needed to get back on trac — June 25, 2014 @ 6:05 pm

  4. Great step by step guide Laura! I have noticed during the summer, my treadmill never gets a workout… I HAVE to walk outside. I love reconnecting with nature and listening to the birds talk. I also started doing work outside under my trees on a blanket… But only as far as my WiFi will allow! Lol

Wifi when working is okay Kelly but when you are not ~ go to the tree where wifi does not reach ~ it does a soul good 🙂

  5. I love reading your blogs 🙂 When I am done, I feel like I am on the right track… and getting a A+ in soul-wise living 🙂 Laura, I am doing all the things you suggest above and could not be happier. I cherish the early mornings. I am up at 5 and it truly gives me time to breathe in the day slowly and with deep intention. I write my Morning Pages – such a great ritual! Everyday I take a walk and each weekend, my family and I are adventuring into nature. So nice having the Rocky Mountain National Park in my backyard. My sense of curiosity is thriving… I also find photography helps with this… I not only stop to smell the roses, but to capture the beauty of every petal 🙂 Thank you for this affirming post! Big hugs to you!

  9. Laura, did you write this specifically for ME!? You have a way of speaking directly to what I am needing in the moment.
I have access to ever tying you mention here, and have been hearing, but not adhering to the gentle whispers calling me to create a spiritual practice. Do you have suggestions on how I can make this a regular practice, instead of the here and there, but rather a way of BEING? I wake up early (after the baby has his morning feed and goes back down around 5:30). I lay awake, until my oldest comes in around 7. Again, I have time. I have access to serene nature outside of my back door. I can feel my Soul calling, but have only motivated myself to get up a handful of times. THANKs for sharing and gently nudging me to begin this practice.

Star! Perhaps, there is a reason why you stay in bed…..could be you need to nurture yourself because of the infant-care you are so lovingly BEing right now or it could be ‘avoiding’ BEing with self. Either way, don’t beat yourself up for staying in bed but rather allow the choice to BE. Once you do that, I’d be surprised if you didn’t get up more often 😉 Reach out if you need more support!!!!!
