An Intention is that thing that you plan to do or achieve: an aim or purpose. Creating these allows you to understand the next best steps to take around creating that which you intend to have in your life. Without them, our actions become haphazard. Often our actions are then made up of responding to situations. With them, our actions are ones of creation that allow us to manifest that which we aim to have and that which we desire most for our lives.
The New Moon is a time of releasing, letting go and setting intentions for that which we desire to manifest in the next Moon Cycle. It is a great time to have a routine around setting intentions that will:
* manifest our dreams
* revolutionizing our lives
* find inventive solutions
* create outcomes that are good for others, as well as ourselves
* experience positive opportunities for growth
* accept help, love, and support from others
* nurture healthy friendships,

There are many rituals around New Moon Ceremonies to Set Intentions. They range from very simple to very elaborate. Here’s a simple ritual that allows for flow of your intentions to the Universe:
Write your intentions down.
Create an Affirmation around those intentions ~ one that empowers you to already BE those intentions and take action.
On the night of the new moon, release these to the night sky by burning them (*Always be cautious when using an open flame!)
Detach from the results, knowing the best possible outcome is on it’s way to you.
Take your affirmation and place it by the mirror in your bathroom.
Read it in the morning and at night to empower your day and your dreams
What ways have you used the new moon to create intentions and take action from them? What will you try this month?

Oh Laura, I am so grateful for all you have taught me about setting intentions and how gracious you are in allowing me to walk the path as you guide. You know the path between my ever urgent business focus and a soulful journey has many stones on which I stumble. You also know one of the tough parts of this journey for me is to detach from the results. Oh, but what a difference that one action makes. I hope all who read this simple ritual follow that suggestion. Thank you for sharing this ritual with the world.
For those of you focused on biz, shifting from a traditional biz cycle to a cycle in nature will make an amazing shift. Try it and don’t forget detach from the results.

Yes, Cindy! I, more than ever, am getting the detachment piece too. It’s such an important aspect to moving through space and time and BEING instead of efforting!

such good information, Laura. I’ve never thought of working with the new moon to set intentions but it makes total sense. I’ll give it a whirl

I love the New Moon! I get so excited seeing the little sliver in sky and feel so filled with possibilities for the coming moon cycle. In the past I have done New Moon readings to support my growth and intention setting and through your inspiration I am going to recommit to this nurturing practice! Thank you!

I like this ritual. In the past, I’ve always used the timing of the new moon to set my intentions. I either write them down or add them to my dream board. I like what you’ve added to this! And since Mercury is retrograde, it will also be a good time to have introspection. I’m already feeling the Mercury wobble. =0) Ready to welcome it.

I love that you are so connected to nature. Things like the moon cycle used to be so much more integrated into daily life. I’m glad we have you here to ground us and remind us!

Wonderful suggestion for someone like me who is not all that attuned to the cycles of nature. Need to pay more attention.

Yes, Lilia! It is about being attentive and conscious to the cycles in our lives ~ by doing so we can focus on what our soul’s desire is!
