Rhoberta Shaler, PhD, spent twenty-eight years in the education systems, both private and public, as a teacher, counselor, music specialist, administrator and principal. Much of that time included offering seminars to teaching staffs on
fields as diverse as Self-Directed Professionals, Conflict Management, TeamBuilding, Stress Management and Arts As Basics.
A spiritual teacher in both senses of the word, Dr. Shaler has changed the education experience of thousands of children and parents. As early as 1973, she won a cross-Canada competition to be the principal of an experimental private school based on the British Open System of education, where child-centered learning using the community as a classroom blossomed.
Dr. Shaler has spoken at many conferences on child-centered learning incorporating universal spiritual principles and values.
